This concert explores some of the female voices of the 16th-17th centuries, featuring a selection of pieces by women composers, or written specifically for female performers, often singers. Through vocal solos and duos accompanied by the theorbo/lute, they showcase the historical practice of self-accompanied singing, as well as instrumental solos, bringing these quiet voices back to life.
